9 Months of Nostalgic: Reflecting on the Journey and Building for 2026

Nostalgic In-Store

On December 28th, Nostalgic officially marks nine months since we first opened our doors. It has been a journey defined by rapid growth, steep learning curves, and a few “boss battles” we didn’t see coming.

The Trial by Fire

Our first nine months weren’t without their challenges. We’ve had to navigate obstacles that were often out of our control – from defending against website DDOS attacks to managing missing shipments, cancelled events, limited stock allocations, and general market uncertainty.

However, we believe that pressure creates diamonds. These hurdles have forced us to evolve quickly, leaving us better protected, more resilient, and fully prepared for 2026.

Industry-Leading Value (Online & In-Store)

One of our goals has always been to remain the most competitive destination for collectors and players. The data shows we are on the right track:

The Digital Benchmark: According to Google’s price benchmarks, the select items listed on our website are currently approximately 70% cheaper than the market average.

The In-Store Advantage: This value goes even deeper when you visit us in person. We have a massive range of singles and graded cards that are kept as in-store exclusives. From our experience, these are considerably cheaper than what you’ll find from any competitor.

The Hidden Inventory: Beyond what you see on our site, we have plenty of rarer items not yet listed online. These unlisted gems are available only to our in-store visitors, offering deals and products you won’t find anywhere else.

Looking ahead, as our allocations increase, we aim to be even more competitive and transparent. Our goal is to consistently sell below RRP (Recommended Retail Price), passing our growth directly back to you.

Completing Stage 1: The Foundation

We are now finalizing our Stage 1 plans, which focused on perfecting the “heart” of Nostalgic: our core physical store and live event experience. We wanted to ensure that when you walk through our doors, you feel the community and the passion that defines us.

The Next Chapter: A Seamless “Phygital” Experience

As we move toward 2026, we are shifting our focus to Stage 2: Digital Integration. We are utilizing more technology to bridge the gap between our physical space and our digital footprint, creating a seamless “phygital” experience:

Tech-Enhanced Events: We are implementing digital tools specifically designed to improve our in-store events. From streamlined registration to real-time updates, we are using technology to make our events smoother and more engaging for every player.

Integrated Digital Footprint: We are building a more efficient multichannel retail experience. Whether you are at a table in our shop or browsing from your phone, your experience with Nostalgic will be effortless.

We are building a space that respects the roots of our hobby while embracing the future of technology. Thank you for sticking with us through the first nine months – we are better prepared, better protected, and we can’t wait to take the store to the next level.

God jul!

One Piece Card Game – Block 1 Showdown! Results (21 December)

ONE PIECE CARD GAME 3rd Anniversary Event

On December 21st, players gathered at Nostalgic in Billund to test their skills in a unique “Block 1” throwback format. This special event challenged participants to build strategies using modern cards (OP01 through OP13) but restricted them to the legendary Leaders from the early days of the game.

With several top-tier Leaders banned to ensure a balanced playing field, the competition was fierce. Players fought for the coveted 3rd Anniversary Winner cards and the title of Pirate King of the day.

Congratulations to Lukas for securing 1st place with a perfect run of 9 points!
