The sun might have been bright outside, but inside Nostalgic, the shadows fully took over last Sunday, July 12th!
We hosted our second highly anticipated Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution — Pitch Black Prerelease event, and the energy was absolutely electric. With Mega Darkrai ex casting its dark illusions and Mega Zeraora ex striking back with thunderous lightning, 24 trainers stepped up to the challenge to see who could conquer the pitch-black darkness.
Every trainer cracked open their Build & Battle Boxes, scrambled to build the ultimate 40-card deck in 30 minutes, and fought through three rounds of fast-paced, 4-Prize card action.
The Undefeated Champions 🏆
Out of a fierce field of 24 players, only three managed to navigate the shadows completely unscathed, emerging with perfect 3-0-0 records. A massive congratulations to our top three duelists of the day:
- Jonas Nordborg (1st Place)
- Freja Nicolajsen (2nd Place)
- Thomas Holm (3rd Place)
Beyond the top spots, we saw some incredible deck-building creativity, clutch top-decks, and—above all—fantastic sportsmanship from everyone involved. Plus, as a fantastic bonus for supporting official local play, everyone who signed in with their Play! ID received a free prize pack to take home, along with their 3 participation booster packs!
