Thank you to everyone who joined us this past weekend! On Sunday, May 17, 2026, we hosted our second official Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising Prerelease event.
We sold out of prerelease kits with 20 eager trainers, all ready to rip open their Build & Battle boxes and see what kind of chaotic synergy they could piece together. The energy in the room was fantastic as players navigated the brand-new mechanics of the Chaos Rising set, trying out fresh strategies on the fly.
Every single participant walked away with their core Build & Battle kit and an additional 3 booster packs upon completing their rounds. However, a few players truly mastered the chaos.
🏆 The Undefeated Top 3
Three rounds of Swiss tournament play produced three entirely undefeated players, each boasting a perfect 3-0-0 match record. Because their points were completely tied, the final standings came down to the razor-thin margins of Opponents’ Win Percentages ($OW\%$).
🥇 1st Place: Jacob Masbruch (9 Points / 55.56% OW%) – Jacob secured the ultimate top spot, facing down some of the toughest opponents in the room to edge out the competition via tiebreakers.
🥈 2nd Place: Mads Juel Nielsen (9 Points / 47.22% OW%) – Mads put on a masterclass performance, tearing through his bracket without dropping a single match.
🥉 3rd Place: Max Woods (9 Points / 47.22% OW%) – Max mirrored Mads perfectly in points and tiebreakers, cementing a phenomenal podium finish.
All three of our top finishers took home extra Prize Packs as a reward for their stellar performance!

With the set now live on our shelves, it’s time to start theorycrafting. We want to give a massive shoutout to our local community for making this prerelease weekend run so smoothly. The sportsmanship, deck creativity, and overall atmosphere were incredible.
What did you pull? Let us know in the comments what your favorite cards from the weekend were, or what decks you are most excited to build next. See you all at our next Sunday Pokemon League!
The energy was off the charts this past Sunday, May 10th, as 30 Trainers descended upon Nostalgic to be among the first to witness the power of the Mega Evolution — Chaos Rising expansion!
It was a day filled with high-octane battles and incredible pulls. Everyone started on equal footing, cracking open their Build & Battle Boxes to find those crucial foil promos and building 40-card decks to navigate the new “Chaos” meta.
Tournament Highlights
We saw some truly creative deck building during the 30-minute construction window. With only 4 Prize Cards on the line, the matches were fast, intense, and full of surprising Mega Evolution turns!
While every Trainer walked away with 3 additional booster packs as a participation prize, a special congratulations goes out to our Top 3 finishers who proved they could master the chaos and earned extra prize packs for their efforts. Here are the final standings:

In a field where every attachment and every prize card mattered, the math proved just as intense as the matches themselves.

The Tiebreaker Breakdown
The final round delivered a “photo finish.” While Julius Mo Krag ended with the highest total points (13), the tiebreaker mechanics—focused on the strength of schedule—crowned Finn Lasse Fries as the top player, taking the first prize card in the final round. Special mention goes to Daniel Rise, whose staggering 61% Opponents’ Win Percentage (the highest in the room) proved he fought through the toughest bracket of the day to secure his Top 8 spot.

The road to the World Championships heated up this past weekend at the Nostalgic Pokémon TCG League Challenge. On April 26, local Trainers gathered to battle for Championship Points, prestige, and—of course—those sweet, sweet Prize Packs.
The Leaderboard: Peter Haagen Sweeps the Field
It was a masterclass in strategy from Peter Haagen, who finished the day with a flawless 3-0-0 record. While Peter took a comfortable lead, the race for the remaining podium spots was a tie-breaker nail-biter. Lone Overgaard secured second place thanks to a formidable Opponents’ Win Percentage, narrowly edging out Chris Hilleborg.
