What an incredible Saturday it was at Nostalgic! On May 9th, we officially kicked off Round 1 of the 2026-27 European Magic Series. We had a fantastic turnout of 25 mages ready to put their skills to the test in the hallowed halls of Secrets of Strixhaven.
The atmosphere was a perfect blend of high-stakes competition and community spirit, from the first pack cracked at 10:00 AM to the final spell cast in the high-stakes Top Cut.
The Road to the Regional Finals
The stakes couldn’t have been higher: a direct invitation to the Regional Finals and the coveted foil Sowing Mycospawn promo were on the line. After several rounds of Swiss and a cut to an intense Secrets of Strixhaven Top 8 Draft, we have our champion! Eldar Clop!
Everyone who participated walked away with a piece of the action, taking home the gorgeous Ancient Stirrings participation promo and a Secrets of Strixhaven Play Booster to bolster their collection.
A Smooth Day of Play
A huge thank you to all 25 players for making this event a success. Competitive REL can be intense, but the sportsmanship shown during the Sealed portion and the Top Cut Draft was exemplary. In addition, special thanks to Tim for judging the whole event from start to finish!
