Mutagenic Mayhem: TMNT Prerelease Results & Your Next Chance to Play!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Cowabunga! Our first Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Prerelease kicked off with a bang on February 27th. The sewers of Billund were packed with players testing out the brand-new Sneak mechanic and powering up their squads with Mutagen tokens.

It was a hard-fought battle through the streets of NYC, and we have the official standings from Friday’s event below.

Disney Lorcana – Winterspell Prerelease Results!

The ink has dried and the lore has been gathered! This past weekend, Illumineers gathered for our Disney Lorcana: Winterspell Prerelease Event, and the competition was as fierce as a winter storm in the North Mountain.

From tactical Ruby/Sapphire builds to innovative new Winterspell synergies, it was a day filled with incredible plays and community spirit. Every participant walked away with a special promo pack including Timon, adding a bit of “Hakuna Matata” to their collections.

Highlights of the Day

  • The Undefeated Champion: A massive congratulations to Oliver Williams, who swept the field with a perfect 4-0 record!
  • The Top Cut: Our Top 3 finishers—Oliver, Patrick, and Catrine—all took home incremental Winterspell booster packs to bolster their decks for the upcoming season.
  • Tie-Breaker Tension: The race for 3rd and 4th place was incredibly tight, with Catrine Skår Johannessen edging out Anton Nørby Andersen by a razor-thin margin in the “Opponent Match Win” (OMW) percentages.

Winning Deck Insight: We saw a heavy presence of “Resist” mechanics this weekend, proving that staying power is key when the Winterspell frost begins to bite!

The Great Aurora has passed once again! Thank you to the 21 Planeswalkers who joined us this past Thursday, January 22nd, for our second Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease.

It was a night of incredible synergies and tribal warfare. Everyone walked away with a participation Play Booster, but a huge shoutout goes to our top finishers who navigated the day with top-tier records and extra Play Boosters!

Record-Breaking Attendance at the Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease

Magic: The Gathering Lorwyn Eclipsed

Last Friday, January 16th, marked a significant milestone for our community. We hosted our largest single prerelease to date, with 33 players joining us for the Lorwyn Eclipsed event. The energy in the room was high as participants battled through a mammoth six Swiss rounds of play.

This event served as an excellent stress test for the store’s infrastructure, from our booking systems to general event organization. We appreciate everyone’s patience and participation as we continue to refine the experience. Moving forward, we are committed to using the lessons learned from this large-scale turnout to improve the tournament experience for every player.

Upcoming Events

If you missed out on the Friday action or want another chance to explore the new set, we have two exciting opportunities coming up:

  • Final Prerelease: Thursday, January 22nd at 5:00 PM. This is expected to be a smaller, more relaxed event-perfect for those looking to enjoy the set in a low-pressured attended environment.
  • Weekly Booster Drafts: Starting next Friday, we will host weekly drafts every Friday. These events will feature a season-long points system. By participating throughout the Lorwyn season, you can accumulate points to earn special prizes on top of the standard participation and performance rewards.
  • Casual Play: As always, if our paid limited events don’t tickle your fancy you are always welcome to attend and use our tables. Throughout Friday’s and Saturday’s Magic players are always in attendance looking for others to play with.

One Piece Card Game OP-14 Prerelease Results: The Azure Sea’s Seven

The tides have turned and the results are in for the One Piece Card Game OP-14: The Azure Sea’s Seven Prerelease event. This set, themed around the legendary Seven Warlords of the Sea, has officially hit the tables, giving players their first look at the powerful new mechanics and characters from EB-04 and OP-14.

Tournament Highlights & Meta Analysis

The tournament saw a dominant performance by Benllo, who secured a perfect run with 12 points, showcasing a deep understanding of the new Warlord-centric mechanics. The battle for the remaining top spots was incredibly fierce, with four players finishing at 9 points; PepSimon eventually clinched second place due to a superior Opponent Win Percentage (OMW%) of 68.8%.

Looking Ahead

The full release of The Azure Sea’s Seven [OP14-EB04] is scheduled for January 16, 2026. This set is a landmark for the English version of the game, as it includes several cards from the Japanese EB-04 set before their standard release cycle. Make sure to grab your booster boxes early to hunt for the elusive Manga Rare Dracule Mihawk and prepare for the upcoming Store Championships.
